makeuseof.com — Using widely available tools called free virtual drive software or Disk Emulators, it?s easy to mount an ISO file (or a disk for that matter) and use it as one would with a disk loaded in the CD tray. Let?s load with three simple and free virtual drive tools.

That is why I stopped using these unless there is one that works well for those games. I do use WinRAR, ISO Buster, etc. since they do not interfer.

I'm not frustrated with anything but people who argue over the internet that the OS that they use is the best and they have to bash every other OS and the people who use it. You don't have to muck around all over the interwebs, really. Stop making a huge issue out of nothing. I'm sure you have some 3rd party apps on your Mac. Does that mean Mac OSX sucks? No. I have 3rd party apps on my Windows PC. Does that mean Windows sucks? No. Both are fine. I don't care what OS you use. Why do you care what OS I use so much?

True... They do that so your disks will wear out and you'll have to buy new copies.

I agree that mounting filesystems via the command line is easier and better usually, but I personally never had much success with mounting ISO that way.Not a fault of mount, just my lack of know-how :-P

this must have been a very specific case as I've done this many times and nothing (bad) has happened

You can omit some of the options. This is usually enoughmount -o loop /path/to/iso /media/iso

No problem with Daemon tools too.
