techeblog.com — Tiny enough to slip in your pocket, this 3-megapixel keychain camera is perfect for taking pictures on-the-go. In addition to being a camera, it also functions as a video (320 x 240) / web (640 x 480) cam.

3MP means nothing. If it has a s**tty sensor (and I imagine it does) then it will suck.

I'd really like to see some pictures taken with this thing.

This is true. If you zoom in on the picture you can see it says VQ1005, which is a 1MP camera.

It looks cheaply built. I wouldn't want to own one until I see something made by a more reliable brand like Kodak, Sony or Canon.

If you haven't realized it yet, nothing short of a dedicated camera or possibly one of the ericsson camera phones can actually take real pictures. The number of megapixels means absolutely nothing. I have one that is even more advanced than this. It is pocketable and can play MP3s and videos. The camera is 4 megapixels and (gasp) made in China. The pictures may be 4 megapixels but the sensor is cow manure. Half of the picture is noise, the rest is a blur. It's more like abstract art than a real picture. Same goes with every camera phone I have ever used. It is a gimmick and they will buy the cheapest thing they can find and slap it on there to make it into a feature.

This one is a what get what you pay for deal. It works. The unique feature is that it will accept an SD card (doesn't come with it) so you don't lose your pictures when the battery dies. For $20 it is a digital toy. What kind of picture can you get with it? Look at http://www.flickr.com/photos/whatknot/256799697/ for a sample image This also has some additional technical comments. It does have a character all its own. Inspector Gadget would love it.Megapixels don't count. I have seen plenty of crappy pictures taken with expensive cameras. And a fair amount of good pictures with low res equipment.

Added note the VQ 1005 camera is a nominal 1.3 megapixels and the exif data in the images says it is a MEGA-Cam SQ908. Also is can shoot 2mp video clips in avi format.

I was searching Google for information about it, and found this digg story. Certainly dugg, since I own one and it's pretty cool! At Wal*Mart, you can get it for only $19.96! That's a lot cheaper than $69.95. 49.99 to be exact. Go to Wal*Mart and save 50 bucks.
