news.yahoo.com — Blu-ray stomped HD DVD to become the standard format for high-definition movie discs, but years may pass before it can claim victory over the good old DVD. Noemi Velazquez, a 44-year-old warehouse worker, can ex plain why. She took one look at the $399 price tag of a Blu-ray player at a Best Buy store in Glendale, Calif., and kept going.

I think the slow down on DVDs are the result of many just not bothering with physical media anymore. I know I haven't gone to BestBuy in a while and walked out with any shiny plastic discs and I don't plan to. If it's an immediate must see I do the pay per view or just wait until it gets on the movie networks. Same goes for BetaRay. Why would I pay an outrageous price for a player that I have to pay outrageous prices for movies that can can see cheaper on DirecTV in HD. On top of that these same movies are repeated so many times you can get sick of even seeing the title. Death to BetaRay.

Yup. You don't need 1080p to love watching "The Office". An up-scaled, wide-screen 720 picture is darn good.

regardless, essentially an iphone is just a f**king cell phone. my cell phone has multiple features as well, but i sure as f**k didnt pay 600 bucks for it. i didnt even pay 400 bucks for it. the ps3? i have a knife. the knife can be used for many things like scraping mud off of the bottom of my boot, scratching my back, shaving, or killing you. it's really multi function, i only paid 25 bucks for it. if im going to buy a f**king ps3, i may as well just buy a f**king computer for the same price. the games for the ps3 cost about the same as a game for the PC and i can do more than just watch movies and play games on the PC. i can do assloads more than the PS3 for the same price. its all about flaunting your money around, being an "early adopter" and having more money than brains. that is, of course, unless your mommy and daddy buys it for you.
