small tattoos look tacky imo. if you're gonna get a tat, might as well get something that people can see. the bigger it is, the more area the tattoo artist has to work with, so the better it will turn out. yes, tattoo is an artform. if you were gonna paint something, you wouldn't do it on a 1x1" square now would you?i mean, i can understand some people get tats just to feel a bit rebelious so they can something small on their ankle that no one will ever see. i don't see the point in that. i think if you get a tattoo, you should be proud of it and you should get it cuz you think it will look nice on you. so getting something just to be rebellious or say that you have a tattoo when you meet someone at a bar is pretty pointless--and you will likely regret it later on. i have 4 tats and all of them are pretty big and i intend on getting full sleeves eventually (i'm already half way there on both arms).but then again, it's your body, so do what you like. these are just my preferences. i think people should be free to express themselves and not worry about what some close-minded people think (myself included). as long as you're happy with it, it's cool. and if someone wants to judge you because of your tattoos then screw them. you don't need to waste time on such superficial/judgmental people.

I really like the Quake one myself. But I am obsessed with those series of games so... if I were to get a gaming one, it would either be that or the comet logo from ff7 in a really random place like upper shoulder or something

I've got a tattoo of the Batman symbol. I don't know if that's "nerdy" so much as it is "geeky".http://www.greatwhitesnark.com/2007/04/19/i-have-a-batman-tattoo/

I worked w/ a guy that had exactly that (Intel Inside) tattooed on his HEAD. He was actually a pretty cool guy, but that tattoo...

You are being narrow minded and prejudice. You seem to be of the opinion that people who don't agree with your behavior are narrow-minded and judgemental and it seems you cannot stand that somebody out here thinks your behavior is dumb. You'll notice that all your criticisms are directed at me as a person, whereas my criticisms regarding piercing and tattooing are directed at the act; not at you. You can't see or understand the difference though, which is sad.Your defense of tattooing seems to be that you like it, everybody else is doing it, and you know a successful guy who has a tattoo. So the only plus side to a tattoo and piercing your body is that it feels good to you to have done so. Your comment on jealousy seems purile, so I'm guessing you are still fairly young. Instead of arguing with me and calling me names (as if that could change my opinion in the least) why not simply wait until you are 50 and then see if you still think tattoos and piercings are as great then as you think they are now. Most people don't.My argument against tattooing is that it is a possible health risk. That you are mutilating your body (look up the definition if you don't think the word fits). That you may grow up someday and realize that your "modifications" were probably not the wisest of your decisions (based on the fact that I know many, many people in their 50s and later who have tattoos and deeply regret them). So, my arguments against it are based on facts that I have observed. I'll take facts over feelings any day.You are lucky that your piercings closed up. My wife pierced the hell out of her ear, hasn't worn anything in the holes for about 15 years, and the holes are all still there. I have never said a thing to her about her piercings because I didn't want make her feel bad (after all, I can separate the person from their choices), but she makes comments all the time that she wishes she never would have pierced her ears and she, of her own accord, forbids any of our children to have piercings until they are old enough to make a wise decision. Not one based on "well everybody else is doing it..."So, why do something that is permanent that you are most likely going to regret later? The answer seems clear if you think about it. There is no good reason.
