"Font" is officially used to define a combination of typeface and size. Being that sizes are specified (or at least exemplified) in the article, the use of 'font' works...but maybe the '30' would be wrong then. In the end, why bother being so pedantic against an accepted use of the word?
Damn, so many font snobs. "Hmmmn yes I like the southern arches and the majesty of the serifs, it speaks to me of the wonder of the soul and the majesty of mankind". It's a f**ken font, calm down and have a stiff drink (or maybe that's the problem).

Times New Roman is that font that you can tell the person using it has no f**king clue how to change the font in Microsoft Word.

Georgia, Constantia or Cambria are all superior to Times or Times New Roman. "Times/TNR" = vastly overused.

And up until 2007 it was the default font in Microsoft Word (and most people are too lazy to switch to something else).

I don't think many newspapers actually use Times New Roman. Not even The Times uses it...
