MS has pretty convoluted naming scheme the brand is pretty strong don't get me wrong, but the names for each version doesn't make sense ever since Windows 3.1.
Size of the box is pretty much irrelevant. How often do people buy a copy of Windows? If you want to be concerned about shipping volume, perhaps potato chips would be a better target to set your sights on. A back of chips is over 50% air, and there are orders of magnitudes more truckloads of potato chips traveling our highways than truckloads of Windows.(Of course, a successful campaign against potato chip packaging would piss me off. That air space in the bag serves to protect the chips. Package them more densely, and all you'll have is a bag of crumbs by the time they make it to your home.)
I vividly remember the "Windows 3.1 for Workgroups" box. Damn, I'm old. Kids 20 years from now will be going... "Man I remember buying the Windows 7 box... how time flys"
