I had AOL 1.1 for Windows in 1994 and it did use keywords, so it's appropriate. The only anachronism I noticed was the AOL Instant Messenger buddy list. That didn't exist in 1994. The AOL instant message chat is real, you could do that in 1994, but there was no separate buddy list window that held your friends names and showed when they were online. Mirabilis invented the buddy list concept a couple years later when they created ICQ by stripping the chatroom part out of a typical IRC channel.
