betanews.com — Since WGA launched in July 2005, over 512 million users have attempted to validate their copy of Windows, Microsoft said. Of those, the non-genuine rate was 22.3 percent. 56,000 reports have been made by customers of counterfeit software, which grants that user a free replacement copy of Windows.

what if your came with Home edition but you install pirated version of Pro, it is like 60% Genuine?I actually got a Legal version and I couldn't validate it. I lost the key so I use key found on the net and crack the WGA once and one day I try to get it validate it and doesn't work, even with MS key changer tool. :(*

I'd like to know the percent of Windows OS's that have been issued but never used? And the percent that are no longer used?Microsoft is only too happy to sell you Windows again and again and again....

I honestly can't understand why anyone would want to pirate Vista, tbh. What's the point?Would you lick a plague victim's sores and then jump around shouting "Hahaha!!!! I stole all your plagues!! Bubonic plague is now owned!!". Weird.I can have a free legit copy of Vista any time I like. See if you can guess whether I have it installed, heh."""Stupid Ferrari... don't they know I can get a Ford Pinto for $250? Oh well, I guess I have the right to steal one of their cars now."""It's worse than that - this guy is talking about pilfering a $250 Ford Pinto in a world where Ferrari have slogged their guts out for 20 years to provide a generation of brand spanking new free Ferarris.

"Why, certainly...."-CurlyThey should have selected a better acronym for their Genuine thingy-o-bob... 'WGA' sounds like a comeback hit for the Village People.

I know if I were a business own I'd be overjoyed to see that 22% of my product was being stolen.

Since Win 95 I've never had a valid license for Windows. Now that I'm on a Mac, I'm finally more than satisfied with the OS, and I'm glad a fraction of my Macbook Pro's cost went towards the OS. I support this OS 115%, and haven't used a Windows OS since.Perfect timing as well considering the negative aspects of Vista I keep reading about.

I have a genuine copy of windows XP pro. However I got tired of downloading Service Pack 2 all the time so I downloaded it from good old torrent. A very time saving move on my part since I work on computer all the time.
