worldwidelearn.com — From Abstinence Education to the Montana Sheep Institute, your tax dollars are being spent on some pretty interesting research projects. How about $431,000 to research the catfish genome. "Is there a gene marker for 'delicious when deep-fried?' (If so, I think nearly every food has it.)"

The author really should know more about the programs he disses before throwing bombs. #19 - Maine does serious work in the lobster fisheries . . . those have been horribly depleted over the past century. #13 - developmental carbon nanotube-based radiation hard non-volatile RAM . . . having a vague idea of what this technology promises, it makes a lot more sense than stuffing redundant Federal agency resources into West Virginia to keep Sen. Byrd happy. There may well be others.

I really don't think he's trying to diss the programs. Just poking a little fun... why must everyone be so serious? --please chill out Iconoclast25 and be a little open-minded-- I am sure all of the programs on the list have been well researched and deserve the funding, but come on dude... "throwing bombs," please...
