Sort of, only because she was born in 97 before the first movie. I have always had a strange love in my heart for William Gibson's Neuromancer and read it in my youth and played Cyber Punk and Shadow Run. I never thought of Matrix as a name. When my wife was 7 months pregnant with twins and we were tossing around names for our children we still didn't find anything we liked. One night we were watching Commando on TBS and the general came out after and Screamed Matrix and my eyes lit up and I said that is it we will call her Matrix. It was the prefect combination of Sci fi and Arnold Schwarzenegger. I do like them both. My wife agreed it was a good and original name and she was dubbed Matrix Veda.
