not impressed by some of them. with my '98 Mercury Mountaineer (5.0L V8 AWD) i get about 18 city and 24 highway, even with my lead foot. hybirds/small SUVs aren't efficient enough yet to offset their high initial costs. driving one now must be more of an environmental choice than an economic one....though i do like the look of the new hybrid mariner :D
It's not so much the towing weight with a boat is really the problem. Sometimes its actually the landing that you are pulling the boat out of that is the problem. some are very steep and hard to pull the boat out of for different reasons and a heavier vehicle with the horsepower is needed. I have a 16' Deep V lund, but my dad also has a pontoon and his Explorer has trouble with that on certain landings and I will inevitably be towing it for him as he gets older :( .
Just bought the Accutire MS-4350B Tire Gauge, and so far it has worked great. As far as what people are saying about it not sealing properly on the valve stem, it only takes a little practice to get the right angle then it seals fine. I have had no problem getting an accurate reading and the gauge will alert you with a beep when it has gotten a reading. The ability to set your default tire pressure (front and rear) is also a nice touch. more info http://astore.amazon.com/accutire.tire.gauge-20

That's the whole point of the turbo engine.Power when you need it, fuel economy when you don't....the best of both worlds.

Since most SUVs now are still in the low teens, IF that. It is pretty good. Wait till you get 8 mpg like me and these start to look better and better.

I got the 2008 Jeep Cherokee Diesel and burn B20 and B100. Runs like a charm and gets great gas mileage
