Sony is developing Blu-Ray to woo us enough that we don't notice all the DRM and crap they want to impose upon us.Think about it, would you buy a DVD player with full-blown DRM attached to it if there was a comparable DVD player right beside it without the DRM? But would you buy the DRMed Blu-Ray super-d-duper drive with Sony's seal of approval if the video made the DVD version look like a Chaplin-flick?I swore off Sony long time ago and actually consciously purchase away from them (I just got a Canon DV camera that would've been a Sony if it weren't for the rootkit fiasco) so yes this is a biased opinion.
Am I the only one weary about the fact that they now make a point to note that "In Game Advertising" will be a major part of the companies income? I'm definitely not looking forward to being sold something every time I turn on a damn game. However, I must say, the interface looks pretty nice. Dare I say, it's even more appealing than Microsoft's "Blade" system?
Um, no. Vaporware is something (most often software) which is talked about alot but either takes forever to be released (at which point it stops being vaporware) or never get released.Additionally, all vaporware is "late". Since the graphics shown are renderings (not driven from a PS3) and the features everyone talks about are not-yet-known-to-be-included, the term vaporware fits very nicely.
First of all, framerate has NOTHING to do with HDTV resolutions. What makes their whole FPS thing even more retarded is the fact that once framerates get up that high, the human eye can't detect a difference (240fps!?) Second, in that picture, Sony made up their own definition for the term "HD-ready" that already existed, and invented the term "Full-HD". Pure marketing.

@tastypastryLike those developers took advantage of the xbox hardware over the ps2 hardware?
