I have done some downloading of music, and only 3 albums are from 2007. Not only that, 1 of them is Chinese, 1 is Japanese, and the remaining was Saliva's Blood Stained Love Story. No one has yet disprove my theory that the old days are better.

Solution: stop listening to the radio. They're paid to play crappy music. There's been some great music in the past few years, but it doesn't come from labels with big advertising & payola budgets.

According to the RIAA, ripping a CD to your computer is not authorized and as such is illegal. Why is your illegal ripping better than illegal downloading? Both are against the law which you apparently realize since you talk about being "caught" playing your music on your computer? Again, the point is that a legal product is not available so people are forced into an illegal situation. With the CD there may be less risk of being "caught" but it is illegal and you are at risk.

Ditto on f**k the RIAA. It was amusing, as mentioned above, that this article was on MTV. Hasn't MTV become a reality show channel?? It seems that way. What happened to music being played on the music channels?? I don't want to listen to rap, thank you. Between rap & reality shows, you can't find anything good on the music channels anymore.
