greencarreports.com — Owners of Toyota's iconic Prius hybrid model who thought they'd escaped the rash of Toyota recalls need to think again. The company is working on a fix to reshape accelerator pedals so that they cannot be trapped by floor mats, and will issue details within weeks.

LOL that's the one guy I was talking about in my other reply to you... you know the one "expert" who just really BSed his test and is now a laughing stock amongst many auto enthusiast websites, even ones that hate Toyota.<a class="user" href="http://www.autoblog.com/2010/03/08/toyota-hits-back-at-david-gilberts-no-fault-code-demonstratio/" rel="nofollow">http://www.autoblog.com/2010/03/08/toyota-hits-bac ...</a>Not to mention ABC News faked some of the test footage. Hmmm...<a class="user" href="http://www.autoblog.com/2010/03/08/report-abc-news-faked-at-least-one-part-of-runaway-toyota-repor/" rel="nofollow">http://www.autoblog.com/2010/03/08/report-abc-news ...</a>

Everyone knows it's not the floormats / pedals. Toyota just doesn't want to admit it because being forced to fix the real problem could potentially ruin the company financially.

Are you serious? 1. they need to get rewired because one of the problems is a short. Short is faulty wiring. 2. The computer needs to be replaced because it isnt reading a faulty code (check engine light). If it doesnt read the error, it cant correct for it, and in the end there is not record of the error. Get your facts straight before you bash someone.Atleast Ford never lied to my face. Especially about something that is killing people. I expect the line to be drawn somewhere and it is WAYYYYY before killing me.

this problem isnt limited to Toyotas sold in America.
