I'll bite...*** Republicans want you to forget that there were no weapons of mass destruction.Actually, Republicans want you to rmember that documents in Iraq show that Hussein was trying to force the collapse of the sanctions in order to restart his nuclear program. They also want you to know that countries like France, Germany and Russia also believed that Iraq had WMD's in violation of the UN resolutions in the run-up to the war.*** Republicans want you to forget that while the Republican Policy Committee was opposed to the deployment of U.S. Soldiers to Bosnia under President Clinton, they?ll brand you a terrorist if you oppose President Bush?s war in Iraq.Different war, different situation. Republicans want you to remember that Bosnia was never believed to have WMD nor were they funding terrorist activities against the US. Republicans also want you to remember that once the Bosnia War started, Republicans fully supported the troops and didn't use Bosnia as a stick to beat Clinton over the head the way Democrats are politicizing the post-Iraq War situation.*** Republicans want you to forget there was no yellow cake uranium.See the first point. This is redundant!*** Republicans want you to forget that they hired a bunch of rich thugs to lie about John Kerry in 2004.Bulls**t. They supported but did not "hire" the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth. The SBVFT served with or near John Kerry, and were uniquely qualified to offer their opinions.Republicans (as well as the rest of the world) are still waiting for Kerry to release ALL of his medical records from Vietnam. If Kerry has nothing to fear, why doesn't he do it?*** Republicans want you to forget they lied about John McCain in 2000?otherwise we would have President McCain right now and not President Bush.Would that be like Al Gore standing up in a black church (on camera, nonetheless) and declaring the George Bush wanted to turn back the clock to the days when a black person was considered to be two-thrids of a person?*** Republicans want you to forget that before attacking Afghanistan to search for Osama Bin Laden and fight the terrorists, Bush first decided we need to attack Iraq ? where there were no terrorists?until we attacked and occupied Iraq.Even President Clinton believed that Iraq was in violation of UN resolutions and that tensions were building again between the US and Iraq.*** Republicans want you to forget that when the Army Chief of Staff Eric Shinseki suggested that ?several hundred thousand troops?would be needed to stabilize and occupy a country the size of Iraq, President Bush and Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld both derided the Army Chief of Staff. His reward for his honesty? They let him go.From the Wikipedia entry linked to in the article (guess they don't read their own links):"Contrary to Democratic candidate John Kerry's claim, in the first debate of the 2004 presidential election, Shinseki was not "retired" for his testimony before Congress. His official term as Chief of the Army ended four months later and he retired as scheduled."*** Republicans want you to forget that they inherited the biggest surplus in the history of the United States when they assumed control of all three branches of the United States government in 2000 when they took power, and turned it into the largest deficit in the history of the United States. The surplus was due to the tech boom of the 1990's, not Bill Clinton. The economy was already slowing down before the end of the Clinton administration. It also didn't help that terrorists destroyed two towers in the heart of the financial district in New York, and that we had to go to war. Why is it that Democrats always forget that?*** Republicans want you to forget that they had a plan to attack Iraq drawn up long before 9/11.As did Clinton. See the above answer.*** Republicans want you to forget that you can?t spend any money when you are dead.Just because I'll be dead doesn't mean that I don't want my kids to inherit the money that I spent my life earning with my blood and sweat and toil.*** Republicans want you to forget that sending jobs overseas takes jobs away from working Americans.Republicans also want you to remember that we are moving towards a global economy, and in order to be competitive in the world markets, business costs have to be competitive.Republicans also want you to remeber that the unemployment rate is currently 4.4%; during Clinton's tenure, unemployment was as high as 6.9% and as low as 4.0%.*** Republicans want you to forget that they want your grandparents to pay as much as possible for healthcare. Not true. America has the best health care in the world. Countries that have government subsidized health care often have very poor health care, and/or poor access to health care. The far left want an immediate switch over to such a system; Republicans are more realistic.Remember, the Democrats in the congress bailed out oh Hillary's health care plan, too, when the Democrats had the presidency and the congress.*** Republicans want you to forget that they don?t want Social Security to exist at all, instead, you get whatever money you have managed to save when you retire.Social Security is heading towards insolvency. That is an indisputable fact. Even the Democrats know this. The Republican plan would allow people to choose either traditional SS benefits, or elect to invest the money. The average return of the stock market is SIGNIFICANTLY higher than the average return of current SS investments, and it invests the money in the US economy. When you hear sob stories of how people lost all their money in the stock market, they are usually invested in just a handful of stocks (like Enron). A well diversified portfolio should not have any problems.*** Republicans want you to forget that a Republican President has started every war since WW2. If they can?t find enemies, they just pick a noun (drugs, terror). We didn't start this war, Al Qaida did.Clinton started a war, too. Carter avoided a war with Iran, in the clear face of aggression. Are we better off with Iran?*** Republicans want you to forget that they have people in their party who solicit sex from underage boys ? and when they get caught, they just quit and oh darn, Congress has no authority over private citizens so now Mark Foleycannot be prosecuted.Remember Gerry Studds, the Democrat congressman who actuall DID have sex with a page -- and didn't resign?http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gerry_Studds*** Republicans want you to forget that they use racial slurs on colleagues? voicemail. When they are caught, they say they are drunks.Never heard of this incident before this. That's an awfully broad brush you're painting with, to take something that one man did and paint a whole party with it.*** Republicans want you to forget that fuel costs have doubled since 2000, but your income has not.Childish. Oil is controlled by oil-producing countries, and the price increases had a GLOBAL impact.Demand in China is soaring. How does Bush have any control over that?*** Republicans want you to forget that even though you are not making record profits, oil companies are.Oil companies operate globally, and are in the business of speculating on oil.A significant part of Al Gore's fortune comes from oil company revenues.*** Republicans want you to forget that if major companies can?t pay their bills, they can declare bankruptcy and get out of their debts, but you have to pay all of your debts even if you declare bankruptcyMore stringent bankruptcy laws means that financial services companies can offer loans at a lower rate to people who are more responsible with their money.
Just noticing, most of the Republican views posted have insulted some other person, is this how you debate? Having no substantive argument leads to low insults, seriously guys, unless you have solid evidence to why something is wrong or right why are you posting that it's total B.S. Go to the B.B.C. or some other real news organization and read the current events. Generate YOUR own opinions and decide where that puts you politically. If your values are neither Republican nor Democrat look for another party. It's that simple, you don't need to agree to a parties views to be in it, but you should most likely join another party if you disagree with it's values. Also, get it straight for the last time; the current Republicans are far off from conservative (look it up), and not all Democrats hold liberal views. Get the terms right and don't refer to Democrats as Liberals ("libs" for the less knowledgeable) and don't call the current Republican Party conservative. If they were conservative, they would be CONSERVING money, think about it. Look at Pat Buchanan, he's a true conservative, also notice how him and his fellow true conservatives are outraged that the current Republican party calling themselves "conservatives” It’s hard to have a political debate when people throw out words such as Fascist, communist and liberal if they are not used properly. As general theme socialism has been mixed up with Republicans as a view that wants to give "lazy people" services paid by the people with those "evil taxes." FYI, in a properly applied scenario taxes are a great idea, just look at all the other First world countries and their Universal Healthcare. The problem with American politics and its politicians is that they are not applying the concepts correctly or labeling them correctly. Taxes are for the purpose of providing the most efficient and cost effective way to get services to all the people of a nation. Of course it only works in a scenario where you are fairly taxing people, unlike the U.S. Cutting taxes defeats the purpose of taxes. You should either have them or not, because in between hurts the citizens because they both have to pay taxes and pay for the government services that were just cut due to lack of funding. It will get worse; the Republicans sadly are using the tax system as an easy way to get money to the people. There reasoning sounds great to the people, yet services are not governmentally provided therefore they cost more. When the government provides it, competition goes down which helps to get more efficiency out of the correctly applied tax dollars. Think about it.Philosophy + Concepts = The Perfect Country The Constitution was the groundwork for a "perfect" country; we gave rights to minorities taking a great step forward. Yet where are we now? Racism is enveloping us all weather we realize it or not, corruption; soft money, special interests, and the lack of political competition, have caused this great nation to fail the dream of our Founding Fathers. Our hypocrisy, racism, and the theft of our freedom done upon us by our government is undermining why we are a free nation. The reason I and everyone else who loves their country, the United States of America, are because we are the land of opportunity. This means that we do not openly suppress people, we have checks and balances that fairly represent both the people and the constitution, and with this opportunity one can freely do anything while respecting others without worrying if their acts are infringing on others religious moral values. This is merely the dream now, possibly the dream our founding fathers had when signing the constitution, now all our checks are off balance, and our balances aren’t checked. The divisions between church and state have not been respected and have been encroaching on many people constitutional freedoms. The executive branch is on steroids and has the legislative branch wrapped in a fist and it's foot on the constitution. While the judicial branch is trying to grab the constitution and is hopeless. Some would say this is neither a Democracy nor a Republic. The word, Totalitarianism comes to mind. Are you thinking freely yet, make your own opinions, think of things you have never. Expand your horizons, this is my opinion and you could have one to that isn't aligned with a particular party. This represents free speech and something relevant in all Political discussions over United States politics.

Seriously, how hard would it have been to google "John McCain" and "push poll" for you to get a look at what we were talking about, rather than just straight up denying and calling people names. This is the biggest problem with debates like these, we can't even agree on what reality is. Everyone has their set of "facts." You think that this is being pulled out of thin air and I think you're in denial. It's a fact that this kind of unethical polling did and does take place. Who's responsible might be up for argument, but you have to ask, who stands to gain with something like this? How many honest politicians are there? So I'll leave it at that. It's obvious you don't want to participate in any kind of honest debate. You'd rather call people names and throw the word "liberal" around like an epithet.
