Children of the Mind sucked. I'm sorry, it really just sucked. Re-read Ender's Game and savor the tight prose, the slick plotting, the characterization, etc. It rocks on every level, it's firing on all cylinders. Then try to read Children of the Mind. The contrast will stun you. It's as though someone killed OSC and put on his skin as a suit.
Sorry, mate but not so. You havent ever read teh Golden Age of science fiction (America, circa 1930s) if you believe that to be true.Even the original Star Wars movie was true SF even though it had its Damsel in Distress mode in it.

I can't take this list seriously as he left out Peter F. Hamilton. As far is I'm concerned if you want space opera/series, he is the best.
