Granted, but you have to pay the exact same amount for a service plan on the unlocked iPhone anyway, unless you want to forgo the data plan (which would make your $600 smartphone purchase pretty damn stupid). At any rate, you'd have to be an idiot to buy a first gen used iPhone for $500.
Virgin Mobile, $20 upfront for a Slice and about $10-$15 a month for service, depending on how much time I waste on the phone. About $0.025 per text and about $0.10 per minute for voice. It'll do web stuff, but the screen is postage-stamp sized, so it isn't really worth the effort. It'll run between 5 and 11 days between charges depending on how good the local reception is.I like the iPhone, but I just don't care to use a phone enough to lock in 80 bucks a month to get one. Now, the iTouch, that's got me curious. It seems to be all the goodness of the iPhone, but without the expensive phone service.Hm, I wonder if i phones can be activated on Virgin Mobile. That would be a good solution.
No, it isn't. I'm COMPLETELY UNLIMITED. Did you not read that part at all? The same service on the all mighty iPHONE would cost me $150.00. Definitely not the same. And I don't have a contract!
