larafairie.deviantart.com — Lara Jade, one of the most popular photographers on deviantart, found a self portrait she took at the age of 14 being used without her permission on a porno dvd cover. She hasn't gotten anywhere with the film company, who claimed they got rid of the cover, but it can still be found on various adult websites.

Yeah, I posted this last night.I really don't care that it was doubled by someone else, since it's helping get more attention to this story.But it is a bit annoying when you have two competing stories on the same subject :)

The owner of the company posted a response when this story hit it on www.consumerist.com. The guy was a total JERK and said how the gal was trying to DEFRAUD the company by posting her photo in public domain. This guy needs to be taught a lesson and SUE him and prosecute him for using the photo of a 14 year old.

I can't believe she STILL can't find a US based lawyer to help her. Seems like it's money in the bank for the lawyer if they aren't even interested in doing the right thing. Seems to be pretty simple case, so why would a lawyer want 50K up front when they know they can get a lot more at the end?

deviantART has a major issue with underage girls posting nude 'stock photos' of themselves. It is not like they can help what people upload, but when people complain the should act swiftly so that this sort of thing does not happen. How longer were these images on www.deviantart.com before they were removed? If they can ban a member for having an image that supports Jark they can surely find and ban these underage girls.
