Huh? Don't be silly. The attack you mentioned would actually be very effective, if you knew enough people. Imagine: you get hundreds of people to crowd a McDonalds. They stand in line and take up all the seats. They all order something trivial (a cup of water), or they take a lot of time at the register and decide to order nothing. You have them drive through the drive-through, doing the same thing. All you need to do is keep up the cycle.You've now got a McDonalds that is spending all its time on worthless requests, and can serve no real customers. This is exactly what a denial of service attack entails.Whether the kid was responsible or not... I don't know the details of the attack so I can't say.
