mothersdaycentral.com — We have all been victim to a few of Mom's lies. "Stop cracking your knuckles...it will give you arthritis!" was just one of the many things mothers tell their children to keep them in line. What lies did your mother tell you?

16. "If you keep playing with it, it will fall off someday."This has its origins in the anti-masturbation hysteria of early 1900s America. Masturbation hysteria is also the origins of the United States circumcision craze which makes us the only nation in the world to circumcise babies for "medical" reasons.

Well, its because they already figured out how to have a monopoly on caffine in soda and can make money off of it. If they really wanted to stop it they could. Caffeine raises the heart rate and makes it irregular from a half an hour to 3 hrs. Even a half cup of coffee. We all know not to fu*k with your heart, yet we keep ingesting soda, coffee and energy drinks that muck it up alot.

And before I even read this...A lie your mother told you is dad is not your _real_ dad.1 out of 10 kids in america think their dad is their biological father.

Why do parents insist on lying to their children ... eventually, the children will find out about the lie and have conflicted feelings about the issue and about those that lied to them in the first place ... there's got to be better ways to instill a moral compass in a child than through falsehoods, misdirection, confusion and blatant lies ... PS, I'm surprised that fairy tales, mythology and religion aren't at the top of the list -- more kids are probably screwed up cuz of what they've been told about the tooth fairy, the easter bunny, Santa Claus, and whatever god they've been told to pray to than any other reason ... we can do better than this, but I guess its not the kind of site that likes to tell the truth to its *adult* readers either ... oh well ...
