To: MasterzoraFirst off, who put you in charge of Digg's content? Second, if your opinions are in fact correct how come the number of what you would describe to be frivolous posts have increased? If Digg is only strictly about what you say it is how come the management of this site have done nothing to prove you right? Before I condemn those who put 'these kinds of stories' up I would like to hear the official word from the horses mouth. I'll reiterate in case you weren't listening the first time: if someone is doing something against the stated policy of this site why has the management remained silent? *sigh* Oh, I'm sure you're the kind of person who diligently fills out those customer complaint cards at every fast-food restaurant you visit. Go to bed I don't care for your pedantic bantering, and I'm sure there are those who agree.
@voide:I've said time and time again that I don't mind going slightly off topic. It's when the off topic becomes about as numerous or more numerous than the on topic that things get to be complain-worthy.@16x9:I've said also time and time again (on this page, even) that it's not a matter of liking it, it's a matter of belonging. And it's not that I take it as a personal insult, it's not the stated purpose. If it veers off topic like this, then people with slower connections who actually want to see tech news will stop coming because there are far more required page loadings than they'd like. I know a few people who would switch to digg from slashdot in an instant if only people would use it like it's supposed to be used.@Angst&Strife:Nobody put me in charge of Digg's content, I've just been blessed with the gift of literacy, which many Digg users seem to be lacking. Second, how is the increase of frivolous posts prove that I am wrong in any way, shape, form, and/or fashion? All that proves is that more people are misunderstanding Digg and using it incorrectly. And, you say that you haven't heard the official word. What do you call the *official* faq and the *official* homepage with the text "Digg is a technology news website"? Is that not *official* enough for you?Oh, FYI, I do fill out the complaint cards when I get bad service. How does that make me a bad person in any way? All I know is that they work a lot better than people think they do.And if you don't care for my "pedantic bantering" why did you bother to reply? According to all y'all, you would have been better off just ignoring my post, just like you tell us is the magic solution to all of those off topic posts. Even better, there's the "Rate Comment" box and the there's also the "X" next to my name. I encourage you to use these as they are an important part of Digg.Oh, and, for the record, there are those who agree with me, too.
@16x9Thank you for the compliments, I pride myself in actually trying to have some substance more than "YOU ARE T3H GAY! LOLZ0R!!!111!!1oneone", even if I don't always achieve that 100%.I should also tell you that I pride myself in usually not taking an absolute "only-i-am-right-and-that-is-the-way-it-is-whether-you-like-it-or-not" sort of stance. I just feel that Digg makes it clear enoough to warrant such a stance. It's not really a matter of opinion that Digg says "Digg is a technology news website". It is a fact that it says that, and that is the basis for my arguments (as you probably can tell by now).Yes, I understand the people who say that an occasional diversion is nice, and that this is better than some of the other posts that are frontpaged, and I agree on both points. I am just fed up with the fact that they are no longer occasional when Digg so blatantly says what the content should be.Thank you, too, 16x9, for not sounding like a big idiot. Most of the people who try this argument against me sound like big idiots; one, in fact, just gave up because I wouldn't resort to name-calling (stupid trolls).Oh, and I sure hoep you don't get to say the sentence "thanks for taking the time to express your ideas, masterzora" very often, because I've never seen it before and if you'd said it before you'd either have to be talking to nobody or two an imposter, neither of which is an idea I would like to entertain :P

Wow, this just made my day. I can just imaging how cheap HDDs will be in the future. 500 gigs for 25 cents... I can't wait.
