Here you go (stolen comment from another forum for expediency's sake - starts with Cheney, but you know where it would go from there):The grounds of the proposed impeachment are that the Vice President:1. fabricated a threat of Iraqi weapons of mass destruction2. purposely manipulated the intelligence process to deceive the citizens and Congress of the United States about an alleged relationship between Iraq and al Qaeda, and3. has threatened aggression against the Republic of Iran absent any real threat to the United States, all in detriment to the national interest of the United States. The text of the resolution, the articles of impeachment, and all supporting references can be found at http://kucinich.house.gov/spotlightissues/documents.htm.
Though I do not personally know anyone in Iraq, I completely empathize with your situation. None of us want any event which would embolden the enemy, such as having an American in an Air Force pilot's suit stand under a "Mission Accomplished" sign while challenging the insurgents to "bring it on." If anybody did that, he or she would not be acting in the best interest of our troops. I'd have that person tried for treason.I appreciate the tremendous service your family members are performing for our country. All Americans must. My argument is that we should bring them home as soon as possible so that they can serve their country when it is just and necessary. Bush is never going to allow this. In fact, he is doing the exact opposite. Our military is overextended, yet he refuses to implement a draft and give military families some relief. We DID vote in 2006 to show Bush we don't approve of his policies. We did so by electing Democrats to congress who want to bring our troops home. What has he done? Turned around and gone against the will of the people by implementing extended tours of duty and the "surge." If he won't listen to us, then we have no choice... let's get him or Cheney outta the White House to get us out of Iraq!
They joined the military to serve our country in the highest way possible. It is up to us to make sure they are not put in harm's way unnecessarily. Bush has treated the troops like expendable puppets. We have to demand that they be brought home, because they cannot do it for themselves without violating the pledge they made to serve. Bush will never bring them home, so we must get rid of him. @ Hopeso, why were you quoting me and then going off on sopman99? Your attitude towards the troops is arrogant. They are the reason you have the freedom to sit your ignorant little ass in front of your Made-In-China computer and spew your mindless comments on Digg. If I was serving in the military and read your comment, I would think to myself, "Why am I sacrificing my life for idiots like this guy?" So help keep our troops' morale up and just SHUT THE f**k UP. Thank you.
You Hippies in the west are to far away to even know whats going on I guess. If you think Hillary Clinton would do a better job you better put down your Organic health food sandwich and think before you vote.
