The homeopathy "water memory" thing (where pure water thad was previously mixed with another substances has different properties than pure water that wasn't previously mixed with that substance) - I'm pretty sure subsequent attempts to reproduce this have failed.
@xGORDOx:Love has been long explained as a neuro-chemical system in which signals which indicate a familiar being induce a hormonal reaction that causes affectionate behavior and excitement of instincts towards that is sufficient, at times, to overcome 'rational' behavior. The evolutionary advantages of this are clear: societal protection for the sake of survival of a set of genes, or a community of genes, of which the affected person is a member. This also explains, in part, religion. Creating an artifice which can be indoctrinated at a young age creates the familiarity necessary to induce a symptom similar to love, which accounts also for 'religious experience'.More succinctly, most people in love are a bit nuts, and those indoctrinated to religion are generally far moreso.
That evolution occurs is an observable FACT.What is theoretical is the minutia of HOW evolution works.Don't believe me? Mate with your cousin. Many times.Hey, if it isn't true, nothing bad should happen, right? Those of you who have been to Kentucky already know the 'proof' is out there.
Yeah. If DNA code can happen just "by chance" over millions of years, well, then I guess we could put a PC somewhere with an unformatted, empty hard drive, let it sit for millions of years, until "by chance" there is a fully functioning, sophisticated, does-everything-you-need operating system (and it better be one heck of an OS, cause DNA is exponentially more complex than even Microsoft Vista).
Also, prime numbers appear as random when tested using any known entropy test.So they'd be a really bad choice if you wanted a signal that could be easily differentiated from the rest of the radiation in the universe.
Your all idiots. there is only two logical, scientifically proven solutions to all these questions. Its either the work of Xenu, or the FSM....problem solved!

Wired had a whole feature issue about things like this. I believe it was the PC Guy cover issue, 2 months ago.

Seems like a pretty random sampling of 800 gazillion inexplicable phenomenons.

It's the air around a bolt of lightning as it expands and breaks the sound barrier.
