geeksofdoom.com— A great review of the movie from an interesting perspective. At lot of the reviews I've read are pretty dry but I actually gained a little insight from this one.

Fascist aliens telling us we can't have electricity from a gigawatt self powering 15 story high non recyclable crystal ball. Using metal locusts to eat everything. Typical Hollywood. Never thinks about the term, continuity.
Yeah, wheres the part about he Asian alien staying behind because he sees something good about humans, yet Klaatu just ignores this fact through most of the movie and goes about his plan to kill them off anyways.Or my favorite is the choice of using Will Smith's kid to play a depressed angry kid. You got this kid with a huge fro and this uppity happy voice yelling at people saying "That alien is the bad guy. Why are you helping him?" You just can't take the kid seriously. Huey Freeman is more serious than this kid.The role he played was absolutly annoying too. I wanted to take my damn belt off and whoop his ever-lovin' behind and tell him to shutup, sit down, and and stop acting like your one of the big dogs, pup.
This is pretty funny. When I saw TDTESS and I was impressed. Keanu's natural woodenness totally worked for him. Honestly, he is a small part of the movie. When I see a throwaway performance like that, I can;t help but wonder where he studied acting. A good acting school is worth it’s weight in gold. The key is to find one that caters to your individual needs. Not only do you need the basic tools for auditioning, scene study and the like, but you need a curriculum that works with whatever your schedule may be. Whether you work all day, go to high school or care for your kids, not everyone can study in the traditional way. Another acting program that works this way is Film Connection. http://www.film-connection.com/Acting.htmlThe Film Connection’s acting program is affiliated with Joe Anthony studios and fetures valuable one-on-one mentoring. They are also available to anyone living in the United States and have financial aid assistance.

Seriously. Keanu plays vacant and callow-eyed, not distant and empathetic.
