I remember when I first saw the original SMB3 commercial. We had satellite and it was on one of the spanish channels in, of course, spanish. I freaked out, ran around the room, and waited patiently until its release. First game I had ever gotten on release day.The second one was Sonic 3, which luckily came out on my birthday. (note: back during this time, it wasn't impossible to find top games on release date. iirc donkey kong country was the first game i actually had trouble finding.)I feel street fighter wasnt a good choice. I loved the game at the time, but if I want to pick up an older street fighter, ill get one of the newer ones.

I have never heard anyone else mention this game, but James pond 3 on genesis was certainly unique. I spend years trying to track it down, before emulators came about; anyway the fact that that game is on my list proves that its really just the game you grew up playing that have a special place in your heart

What about Space Invaders? Glaxian, Galaga, Pac Man, Breakout, Frogger, Asteroids, Missile Command?

I barely remember that great game, but I know when I was a kid I loved it. Same with Marble Madness. That game had crazy music as well.

What on earth are X5 and X6 doing on that list? Between that and your criminal misspelling of the titles, I doubt you even played them.

I have to agree with dracostimpy. I have most likely played far fewer video games than the average digg user and found Contra to be an easy game, even without the Konami code.Hell, the hardest part of the game is dealing with the other human player, not the game's enemies, since both players have to be on the screen at the same time which either results in slowing you down or death...or stealing your lives after they lose all of theirs.I agree the game would be difficult if it weren't possible to earn extra lives as you accumulate points.
