Tobey, you think a floppy transfers at 3kbytes/sec?! Wake up dude! That would take over 8 mins to transfer the contents of an entire floppy to the hard drive! Floppy drives were slow, BUT NOT THAT SLOW! My estimate of about 30kbytes/sec would mean all the data could be transferred in roughly 50 seconds, which is pretty accurate.
I know. It was a stupid joke about how slow floppy drives are. It seemed funny to me at the time!Most FD drives are actually capable of transferring at 500KBp/s, but I've never seen one actually hit those kinds of speeds.
