StumbleUpon has been around for a long time. I also think that Goowy should be on there as well.I just wish we could have some flash 8 support for Linux!
So because an idea has been around for 10 years, it cannot be reimagined and made into something better? Usability is paramount for alot of these services, and while I haven't tried all of them, most of them are very usable and way better than previous services I've seen. Webaroo again is a great little deal, well done and very usable. So now because the idea has been around for x number of years, we should dump it and bash the entire thing right?Sure.
How are these Web 2.0? Half of them don't even use the Web--just TCP/IP. Of the 12, 6 are not Web 2.0:1. Sharpcast2. Webaroo3. Ether4. GearON5. Soonr6. Zixxo
I don't see anything replacing netvibes as my homepage... Then again, it might change, but they keep improving it so I guess they're pretty secure. Also, don't forget that it's up to their directors how they adapt to new realities... iMDB started as a personal project by Col Needham and it evolved into one of the busiest sites on the Internet and I believe, profitable.Everytime someone mentions "web2.0" half the web gets defensive. Not all is bad in this hype, you might have to filter through a lot of stuff, but there are good businesses going on at the moment. Remember, even if YOU don't like it, maybe someone will... and if they please a lot of "someones", they're in business.
