Open source is very popular in enterprise software development. You get a solution to a problem that fits 90% of requirements, then only have to do the 10% of development to make it fit 100%.That's quite a saving, and gives open source people jobs.

To put this report in perspective, annual worldwide Open Source revenue in 2011 is projected to be about 10% of what Microsoft alone earns.
