just a tip - calculus - especially if you're planning to do anything science related (including engineering, IT work, research, etc) - is a *very* useful tool to have under your belt, and while you can certainly take it in college if need be, getting past the Calc 1/Calc 2 level (most schools would consider AP Calc BC or whatever it's called to be Calc 2) before starting will give you a serious leg up.any monkey can design a db-driven website with rails & an active internet connection (to use google when things don't work as you expect them to); a much more empowered software engineer "abstracts" such stuff from a more thorough knowledge of computer science, including a fair amount of maths.
