Aww :( Not the poor tacky Amish s**t in PA. We used to go there every summer when I was little, and it was sickening because every year it got worse and worse and tackier and tackier. I'm almost scared to go back and see it now. The Strasburg Creamery rocked though - it was this awesome little country store/ice cream shop where they had homemade cones and ice cream and penny candy. Anyone know if it's still there? We did that stupid audio tape tour every year in my grandparents' RV and knew the whole thing by heart. The people at the Anderson Pretzel Factory started knowing all our names...
Well, actually, if you've been to Tombstone in the past couple of years, it IS getting better. Sure, it not some formaldehyde preserved ghost town, but bear in mind, it's been a living, breathing, actual city for almost 130yrs. There are many groups who are attempting to make it a more fullfiling and genuine experience for tourist. It IS getting better, but articles like this don't help much.

Especially since pretty much all historians are convinced the Mayflower didn't actually land there...

You can read about the other historic places on Nat Geo's list of best and worst here, which includes comments from the judges about why they rated one place higher or lower than another:http://traveler.nationalgeographic.com/2008/11/his ...
