articles.moneycentral.msn.com— Why waste money on shiny packaging and a fancy store when you can find it online and 'pre-owned' for a fraction of the cost? Here are your best buys.

@nikuHow is buying second hand piracy? The music was BOUGHT by someone. They then sold it, and someone else bought it.Sure, the music went through more than one pair of hands, but, this logic can be applied to any gift, as the receiver never bought it, and thus, didn't contribute finacially.
Buying a used car is a no-brainer. You're helping the environment by reusing all that metal without melting it down first, and saving a ton of money.Look at it this way: The average, decent used car is about half the price of a new one configured with similar options, oftentimes less. So you could literally replace every part in the car, and still come out ahead. Learn to be a decent DIY garage mechanic, buy a scooter for the days when your car is sitting on jackstands because you're waiting for parts and/or doing a big overhaul, and you not only save money, but you also gain a great deal of self-reliance.To the naysayers: I've got a buddy who always trumpets how his time is 'more valuable' and that he can't waste it on fixing cars (funny, I make more than he does...). Of course, he bought a pile of crap because it was stylish, and has gotten stranded a couple of times because he has no idea how to swap a spark plug or fix a busted coolant hose.Oh, but I'd beware police and military vehicles; they are maintained pretty well, but they also take a ton of abuse, and oftentimes, are put out for sale only after major damage or exceeding their service life. YMMV (pardon the pun).
Sometimes it's actually cheaper to buy new, especially off the lot. Most manufactures give really low interest on new cars, I bought mine last year and the total cost including interest and tax was $2000 cheaper on the new car than on the used.
kolywater's right.... bmw brand depreciates the least (M3 the least of all) and buying used car with some years of warranty left is a good deal (if you can afford it)
How has my earlier comment rated -7 diggs? Is digg hostile a hostile environment for the spiritually minded? The point of my post was that buying new stuff saves you time so you can use your time doing what you do best instead of squandering it looking for bargains. It is inefficient for most symbolic workers, who can now be productive 24/7/365 via the Internet, to spend time tracking down bargains for the stuff they need- just work a few more minutes at what you are really gifted at and use that money to buy the very best new stuff. Used purchases should only be those items that are actually better when bought used and therefore worth the extra time to purchase.

Here's another thing you shouldn't buy new: Glock handguns. Those things are damn near indestructible.http://www.theprepared.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=90&ItemOf course, you probably wouldn't want to buy the one in the link above.
