I've noticed the same with other feeds. However for me that's a feature not a bug since I don't want to see updates all the time. Reader still has big room for improvements, I prefer it though to other readers locally installed on computers because on any computer you use it you know what you have read and there's no need to sync it with the RSS reader from anther computer.
yep I totally agree with you.most of them are glitches/alternative ways to use google reader. if you call those tricks "hack", it must be an article for those who ain't very good at computers.

ya it only updates once an hour, actually a good thing for me because it lets me get some work done until it updates an hour later.

If you haven't opened a hex editor to modify the actual program, you have not achieved a hack.
