In addition to the Philippines, this is common in Eastern Europe. What I was talking about was 99% of the foreign sex-tourist oriented prostitution industry in Thailand (don't know about Brazil, but seems similar). It may well be ugly, but slavery it is not.

Pretty much agree. Only main difference is that Americans are lulled into bondage, rather than grabbed abruptly.
