news.yahoo.com — All this is not to say that Vista is a slam-dunk and everyone should be running out to buy it as soon as Microsoft takes the wraps off. Be sure to read the "Five Things That Will Give You Pause" at the end of the article as well.

Reading Digg Comments makes me want to kill myself. How do so many people get such a bad attitude. STOP WITH THE "CHICKEN LITTLE" MENTALITY PEOPLE! NONE of you have seen the final version of Vista yet, but you all act as if you are experts on the OS already. Some of you didn't even read the article (It's obvious because you are asking the exact questions this article attempts to answer). Please SHUT UP! Try to understand and learn how to be OBJECTIVE, not cynical! I'm gonna start calling you all "LITTLE CHICKENS".

I started using PCs when 3.11 was commonplace, My first home PC used '95 and stayed that way until 2000 when I could no longer upgrade the hardware without changing the OS. '98SE is still on it now but I have had to seriously consider changing to XP because of a lack of driver support from the hardware vendors, not M$ themselves. My home PC is used for surfing, gaming and office and there is no way I could cope with all the faffing around that Linux requires. Having said that. I use 2000 and Linux at work and Linux is far easier to configure and use on a DIS network than anything that runs on M$ software. If I could, I would ditch M$ at work but keep it for home use. It's all "different horses for different courses".Will I upgrade to Vista? Not a hope in hell. For the next few years, Vista is going to be the target of every script kiddie and twonk that wants to make a name for itself. When I have to, it'll be XP and only because my hardware dictates it. Will M$ break XP? Grow up! Look at how long they maintained support for '98SE.

i heard that vista will not be bought from a lot of people because1. its pricey2. you can only activate it for so long before they delete your license and you have to buy another one. they are trying to do away with people who upgrade alot.
