If you are a middle-aged guy...or approaching middle age like me...Louis CK will make you terrified for your future and laughing hysterically at the same time. That is talent. No current comedian makes me laugh out loud (very apt title) more than Louis.
tiduJul 21, 2010
This one should have been on the list.

Louis CK is the patron saint of middle-aged men.

when they cancelled lucky louis it made me want to choke babies.
therednewtJul 21, 2010
But now we have Louie, which I like more. It's like his version of Curb.
igorunchainedJul 21, 2010
Louis CK is the best living comedian....and the list of greats who had to die to make that happen is literally the cream of the crop.

Pure gold, through and through.

Hell, I'm in my mid 20s and this rings true ;p

George Carlin will always be my all-time favorite comedian, but Louis C.K. is my favorite still breathing stand up comic.
holygodJul 21, 2010
I always found Carlin smart and creative, never really found him funny. I don't think I've ever actually laughed at Carlin.
I look at him kind of like I look at Elvis. I respect him as a pioneer that broke the mold, and I understand he paved the way for everyone else, but I don't actually own any of his music.
wmouazzenJul 21, 2010
Louie CK is awesome. I saw him in a really small venue in LA and my friends and I were noticing that the audience was littered with other pretty well known comedians. And he killed, bringing some of the other comedians to tears. Definitely a comedian's comedian.
holygodJul 21, 2010
I remember when I first started hearing about him was when other comedians were being interviewed and he was always one of their answers to "What comedians do you like?"
rhawk187Jul 21, 2010
Been a fan for a long time, hope this show works out for him.

Out of the current comedic generation, Louis CK and Chapelle are my favorite comedians, the rest are just bleh.

Dude, Patton Oswalt?
nomadofthehillsJul 21, 2010
Patton Oswalt suck major balls. He has some funny one-liners, but his timing and overall material is trash. He tries too hard to be a stoner geek.

@nomad - Who do you then declare the captian of yucks?
darkshroudJul 21, 2010
Patton Oswalt is not impressive at all, he isn't fit to even open for Louis CK.
Closed AccountJul 21, 2010
Dugg down for asking an opinion. That makes sense. Still no answer. I'm not even insinuating Patton is that great. Who's worth checking out is all I'm after.
plainoldfoolJul 21, 2010
No Bill Burr (was also a writer for the Chapelle show)? Gaffigan? Dave Attel? Brian Regan?

Agreed, Louis CK is incredible, the best comic alive and better than Carlin and Pryor in some aspects.
Also, what's with the submitter's user icon? I know the swastika is an ancient symbol and all, but that's ballsy.
wondertwinsJul 21, 2010
Correct me if I'm wrong but that might be the Buddhist symbol.
puklrarJul 21, 2010
Nah dude, not the best out there. But he is good.

Indeed, and is prominent in architecture around the world. It was only "tilted" and of course twisted by Nazi agenda.

dinuguanJul 21, 2010
I've never had to ration my laughter before. But when I saw him at the Improv in SF, my mouth was hurting after about 20 minutes from smiling so hard.
juca5056Jul 21, 2010

his stand-up is high quality, too bad his "show" on HBO blew dead goat dick.
randomhero420Jul 21, 2010
His show on HBO was very funny, it was a shame when HBO canceled it. it had 1.5 to 2 million viewers each week compared to entourage which averaged 2.5 million. Yet the only reason it was canceled was because critics did not like it and from what I read, HBO cares about it's image and very much what critics say about their TV shows.

ultimatepossumJul 21, 2010
Seeing him live is an experience you won't forget. The laughter or the sheer pain from laughing.
evilregisJul 21, 2010
I saw him when he came to town last year and it's true. You WILL hurt from laughing. Four of us went and all four of us were in tears and in pain by the end of the show.
No doubt the best living comedian an easily one of the best of all time. He could very well be our generation's Carlin if he stays on track.
nwoollsJul 21, 2010
The full skit on women vs. girls is funnier - the bit on that page cuts out the beginning:

99ovrJul 21, 2010
So glad that Louis gets love from Digg...his stand-up took a huge leap a few years ago and now he's just a beast on stage.
BTW, for people who dugg the clips above, you HAVE to hear this clip of his from the Opie & Anthony show; pure distilled genius: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s0xqe9vVSHk
messir10Jul 21, 2010
I hope people don't find out he is Mexican . He would loose a lot of fans
bryan4hudJul 21, 2010
A comedic genius.
jamesindigitalJul 21, 2010
Funniest working comedian today. His thoughts on marriage and children are priceless. Why? hehe great bit.
evilregisJul 21, 2010
Why? Because it's all true. Being a parent has its highs, but man I've seen some of my sanest friends and co-workers LOSING THEIR f**kING s**t over the things their kids do. But they'll never say anything bad about their kids for fear of looking like a bad parents. You know what, parents? WE KNOW! We know your kid and everyone else's kids are, or have the potential to be GIANT assh**ES and no one will think less of you for saying so. Just do it. It'll feel GOOD.
XLPatJul 21, 2010
It is great. Because he says all of these things which are painful for some people hear, yet you can tell he really does love his child, and loved his wife (they got divorced). Sometimes things are just stupid, s**tty, petty, ignorant whatever... and it's OK to point them out, especially if you do it in a way that is funny as the way he delivers it.
scottyanimalJul 21, 2010
Everything is Amazing and Nobody's Happy is one of the greatest bits ever. I also love his one on banks, and I am currently watching Louie.

And I'm loving his show Louie on FX

are you saying the Louis CK suffers from white guilt? If so, that might be the dumbest f**king thing I've ever heard in my life, and i hang out on Digg. So that means I've heard some really dumb s**t.

Oh wow, what a coincidence...I just streamed Louis C.K.: Chewed Up from Netflix just last night. Funny s**t. He has some f**ked up joke, but damn they are funny as hell.
gfailJul 21, 2010
Thanks for this, saw a clip from the new show and wasn't in love,
but his standup is killer. I'm in.

No, I am a programmer/designer. My boss send me videos worse than this all the time.
Having negated your last comment, I do-however-take offense to it. Are you suggesting that the people in the manual work force have lesser jobs?
