I thought the bath picture was nice because the look of overwhelming serene on the woman on the left was particularly engaging. Aside from that, it was quirky, well lit, and of course, involved naked women. Public baths are also very popular in korea, and some of my relatives there partake regularly for the social/cultural aspects of it, along with the therapeutic benefits of a good hot soak. Many other cultures have communal bath/sauna type traditions, like the russians, turks, greeks, etc, north american aboriginals (sweat lodges, etc). Being all western/puritanical and hung up about being naked in public, I'm not sure I'd be comfortable bathing with a bunch of naked men, but I suppose I get it on an academic level.
Heh, they're silly joke videos. Naturally most customers would not find the soy sauce lacking in saltiness. Among the few things I've tasted that were saltier than certain brands of soy sauce, the only one that really compared was salt. Also, do yourself a favor and look up more of these on youtube. I love the one on chopsticks.
Thank you for enlightening us random travelers. I really like to stick to local customs, if possible, because it is much better to keep as low profile as possible when exploring a foreign country. It is also about respect to local culture.
Meh. Pretty generic. When I lived in Japan I rarely bowed and no tourist would be expected to. You will however, have to use chopsticks. Or bring your own fork.
