the Shaolin temple was my favorite, and this film impressed a lot to the Chinese people in 1980s. In my point of view, it's because of this movie which make Shaolin temple famouse out of China. Another martial art movies I like most is the Huang Fei Hong (name of the character in the film）series. If someone feels interest, try to take a look at it.
The list has a good pick of movies on it. I also liked Kung Fu Hustle, Fearless, Blood sport, Hero. But some moives you should check out is Invincible Osbssed Fighter, good scene where the hero uses chop sticks and a spoon to beat people up. 10 Tigers of Shaolin. Street Fighter and Return of Street Fighter. Kung Fu:Punch of Death. Chinese Connection, Snake-Crane Secret, Duel of the Iron Fists, Spiritual Kung Fu (ghostbusters of martial arts moives). These moives are about how the Kung Fu theater was like. Before you look to modern day movies look back on these and see if they match what the requirements are to be considered a real martial arts moive. By the way Matrix, how can that be considered to be marial arts moive cause the scene with neo in a karate gee fighting, come on. Fist of Fury, Enter the Dragon, Return of the Dragon, Street Fighter, Return of the Street Fighter,Iron Monkey 1 and 2, Fearless, Hero, Kung Fu Hustle, Drunken Master and Legend of Drunken Master, Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, Chinese Connection, 5 Deadly Venoms, All of these should be anyones martial arts moives list, They are classics and are wroth seeing.
a eindelijk kan ik ook eens een reactie plaatsen als een heel grote liefhebber binnen het martial art genre tussen de lijst van de 10 grootste martial art films ooit zit het grootendeels wel goed al hoewel dat er wel nog een paar ontbreken way of the dragon die op 1 staat is zeker een prachtige bruce lee film maar zou in mijn mening toch zeker niet op 1 moeten staan de meesten bekijken deze film gewoon weg voor het legendarische gevecht ( die door elke liefhebber in het genre wel moet gekend zijn ) tussen lee en norris natuurlijk maar anders is de film gewoon goed wat ik persoonlijk heel jammer vindt is dat enter the dragon niet in de lijst staat want dat vindt ik toch nog altijd zijn grootste van lee de film is gewoon wonderbaarlijk goed en is zeker een van mijn favoriete aller tijden dan de shaolin temple zeker verdient in de lijst gewoonweg een van de grootste kungfu/wushu films oiit met echt wel een fantastische jet li zijn gevechtskunsten zijn in deze film gewoonweg zo goed dat deze bijna op zijn plaats staat oke we gaan door naar de volgende ong-bak , beslist ook een van de grootste ooit en heb ik trouwens thuis in mijn dvd collectie de hoofdrol in ong bak wordt vertoond door toen nog de opkomende thaise muay thai fighter tony jaa , ong bak is beslist een heel goede film met prachtige gevechts scenes bijna nergens kun je een betere muay thai film zien dan deze en hij staat dan ook terecht in de lijst alleen vindt ik het een beetje te veel naar voor ik zou hem persoonlijk zeker maar op 6 a 7 zetten maar het blijft een van de grootste dan iron monkey deze had voor mij zelfs nog meer naar voor mogen staan namelijk op 2 of 3 , het is ongetwijfeld de grootste ninja film dat ik ooit heb gezien zijn en dat zal waarschijnlijk ook niet meer veranderen de gevechten zijn zo spectaculair en wonderbaarlijk dat dit ook weer 1 van mijn lievelingsfilms is , ook een zeer goede donnie yen die ik persoonlijk een zeer goede martial artist vindt 5 deadly venoms jammer genoeg kan ik hier niet veel over zeggen want ik heb hem niet gezien ik weet wel dat het een grote kungfu film is maar meer weet ik er niet over seven samurai of shichin no samurai een absolute klassieker in zijn genre die zeker in de lijst hoort aha the legend of the drunken master eindelijk eens jackie en inderdaad dit is echt wel zijn grootste kungfu film samen met het eerste deel dat er zeker ook in hoorde is het fantastisch wonderbaarlijke kungfu in de drunkard style het gevecht op het einde is van buitengewoon niveau en deze mocht voor mij ook wat hoger geschat worden op 3 a 4 a 5dan CTHD prachtige martial art film die zeker ook weer in de lijst thuis hoort magnifieke gevechten weer alhoewel dat ik dat vliegen soms er wat aan te veel vondt maar de gevechtsscenes hier maken de film zoals in veel films in de lijst ze zijn wel fantastisch ook een heel goede chow yun fat , michelle yeoh en ziyi zang voor mij staat deze redelijk goed op zijn plaats ongeveer op 7 a 8oke nu moet ik heel rustig blijven want wth doet kill bill hier ik vindt deze films echt verschrikkelijk om naar te kijken en ik zou deze eerder in de top 10 van slechtste martial art films plaatsen ( sorry voor de kill bill liefhebbers maar ik ben er echt niet aan ) fist of legend , prachtige remake op fist of fury die jammer genoeg niet in de lijst staat en die er toch wel moest staan , heel goed vertolkt door jet li die dat heel goed doet deze moest ook veel meer naar omhoog geplaatst zijn rond 5 a 6 en zo ben ik klaar met mijn mening over alle films die in de lijst staan ( die ik gezien heb 8 van de 10 btw ) nu rest mij alleen nog de films te zeggen die ik vindt dat ook in de lijst moest staan van bruce lee ( grootste martial artist ooit ) de films die er ook zeker moesten instaan waren - enter the dragon ( een van de beste ooit ) - the chinese connection of fist of fury van jet li : - fearless ( prachtige film zkr even goed als fist of legend ) - once upon a time in china 2 ( die ook fantastisch is hoor ) - hero van jackie chan - the drunken master in de top 10 niet er buiten - voor mij ook the forbidden kingdom maar die bestaat nog niet lang en dat is dus begrijpelijk dat hij er niet instaatoverige : - bloodsport ( grootste van Van Damme ) - 36th chamber of shaolin ( fantastische kungfu film met een van de beste en grootste trainingen dat ik ooit gezien heb ) en dat was het zo wat
you see, i must agree with most people here, that the list here is not a very good list.there are some movies that certainly belong in the top 10, but most of the movies are on the wrong places.for me i think a top 10 of best martial arts movies are way to short. It must at least be a list of 15 or 20 titles en these need to be in it:- Enter the dragon ( high on the top of the list )- fist of fury ( also high on the top ) - fearless ( at least at the top 5 ) this is a master piece of jet li.- fist of legend ( is a very succesfull remake of the original fist of fury ) - way of the dragon ( deserves to be on the list, just because of the magnifecent end fight between bruce and chuck, that is world famous in the martial arts wold ) - yip man ( this is a new movie, but it is a fantastic martial arts movies, i recommend everyone )to see yip man, gues it is almost so good as fearless, for some of the people even beter ) - of cours the 36th chamber of shaolin, who needs to be in it to ( for me is this one of the master works of the shaw brothers ) - five deadly venoms is also a very good kungfu movie, that i like very much to - the drunken master 1 and 2 ( 2 of my favourite movies of jackie ) - seven samurai ( a pure classic martial arts movie ) - bloodsport ( the greatest american martial arts movie for me, also the best of van damme. and one of my favourite movies within the martial arts genre, myself i have seen this movie 19 times, and still i love to watch it back )- Ong Bak needs to be in the list of 20 to but not in the top 10 - tom yum gooing is also a very good one of tony jaa a few other titles i recommend everyone are:- the prodigal son- once upon a time in china 1 and 2 - the tai chi master- the shaolin temple- snake in the eagle shadow- ong bak 2- the forbidden kingdom- seven swords- ...i can keep Continue on and on, but i'm not going to do that.
