Those funny gravestones are FAKE. They were put in by the cemetary owners when they opened up a new area of the cemetary for gravesites and a chapel a few years ago - behind the old area where Marilyn Monroe, Armand Hammer, and others are buried. Tourists love them (a la this post) and they bring attention to a cemetary that is pretty hard to find (you get to it by driving down an alley between high rise buildings) so people hear that new plots are available in a cemetary that was previously nearly full. Do you really think movie stars want gravestones with funny sayings and no dates!!!! Come on people!The Mel Blanc gravestone is real - but at the Hollywood Forever Cemetary, and NOT at the Westwood Cemetary that this post starts with.
