"ok, I've designed your site""...hrmm... it's just a text field, a few buttons, and our name...""yep."That would have been a nice design job to take on

spell checking their provided content is okay tho... its so embarassing when potential clients look at my past work and there are spelling errors.

Helping them understand the code your giving them is not theirs is just being nice. Legally you hold the copyright to the actual code by default (well when freelancing anways). If you are employed the code belongs to the company, but if you are contracted (or similar) you are the owner, unless otherwise noted in some sort of agreement.

what you say IS true, but on the other hand, you charge what you're worth and most clients will understand that... they'll get what they pay for.

Bob says, "Hey, Joe said you gave him a break on the last site you did for him... I'll get that too right, since I know him?"Joe says, "Hey, did Bob call you? How about on the next site you give me a bigger discount for referring him?"

I don't know about you guys but when clients pay more AND are willing to pay a % up front, they meddle less and agree more with the design decision you make. More of those please.

I am also offering my services to clients as a freelancer on eZdia. I get ample of opportunities like those discussed above. I understand the usefulness of saying NO to some jobs. However eZdia offers you some real jobs and you get good feed backs and recommendations from your clients. Your task becomes simpler on eZdia as project search according to your expectation is much more advanced here.
