valleywag.com — At last count, 107,000 protesters have signed an online petition demanding that Wikipedia take down this medieval image of the prophet Muhammed. "Please remove these illustrations and respect the peaceful request by vote. I dont want to see this again on any other things too," signer Haris Haseeb from United Kingdom writes on the petition.

When did the Internet get religion? I'm sorry that your offended but I'm sure there are many other sites that are offensive to the Muslim religion do we take then down too. I'm sure there are other offensive site to other groups do we taken them down?

Sounds like Mohammad didn't have much faith in the believers, despite how much faith they have in what he preached.

Amusingly, wikipedia provides code right there to allow them to stop their browser from ever displaying those pictures ever again. But you see, its not about that. Its never about that. Its about control - controlling what others can see. Information and education is the enemy of blind faith and obedience.

Sense of HUMOUR!! No, we don't!! Listen kiddo, if you don't get on ya knees and er... kneel... and worship he/she/they/it who is "teh noodliness and everything" then we will attack your communities with our special brand of "suicide-chefs" who will sneak into your kitchens, whip up a fabulous Fettucine w/Napoli (fresh basil - ya won't find that in a bottle, will ya? Lawd, we iz good to you people...) or maybe a nice light but tasty Carbonara and then run away very quickly the moment they hear you wander into the kitchen... That or start a petition on an internet website to crush your access to stuff we think is, lyk, scary and evil and everything... like mushroom risotto. So there!Srsly. I mean it. - trollhunter (pastafar-jihadist (intermanet divison) for the glorious gloriousness of FSM) aged 9.

So how about the fundamental mormons where the guys can have as many wives as they want as young as 13 (or 14) years old? your alright with that? to me thats almost the same as child pornography. Theres no law requiring those old sketchy bastards to stop f**king the 14 year olds is there? No, and thats an instance where someone is harmed. No one is harmed by the removal of this picture, whereas many people are harmed by the portrayal of it. Why cant you understand that? Are you so self-absorbed that you dont see the other side of the picture? Is it foolish for someone to be spiritual? To believe in something that makes them happy? I dont think so...This isnt some guy off the street asking to remove something offensive, its AN ENTIRE RELIGION! theres a difference there. For me the people here on digg are almost the exact reason why the middle east hates the west. specifically america. your whole attitude of 'f**k other religions, f**k other countries, we should do what we want because were bigger' is what pisses people off. you call muslims 'assh**es' and they are 'bitching' about their beliefs. Sad to say religious people take those beliefs very seriously. Is it so hard for you to respect it? Do you have to go out of your way to make life difficult? Because that is exactly what you are doing. You dont care about this picture, the only ones who do are muslims (and possibly religious scholars) and now you feel that your opinion on this matter is worth something because of 'free speech' and since when does the picture of muhammed (p.b.u.h) encompass the world? Muslims dont believe the world revolves around them (at least no more than christians do) they are merely talking about something that is involved with their own religion. Muhammed is a purely Islam figure, and they dont want his pictuer on the web. they ask for it to be brought down. doesnt seem like bitching or whining to me...sounds pretty reasonable to me...providing you can see the other persons point of view.

Really now. There must be better things to worry about than this. Of all the things that are going on in the world people want to get upset over a picture. This is real silly. Please grow up and get over yourselves.

come on how a watchlist. That is not needed.

Most digg users don't want the picture removed (freedom of speech and expression).
