icann.org — The controversial .XXX domain has been rejected by ICANN - the organisation that decides what domains can be for sale. This comes after intensive lobbying by certain countries that it is an inappropriate domain. The supporters of .XXX argued that it would help separate porn from the rest of the net.

Conservatives look at porn, they just don't talk about it in front of the family.

That's what some of us conservatives are proposing. There are many liberal parents out there who aren't fit to the task. They expose their children to things like public libraries where there is too much information about unclean, ungodly things. They pollute the minds of their children with the concept that government should be free of the word of the Lord. They destroy the chances that their children will ever enter the kingdom of God by allowing them to fill their minds with knowledge acquired through the works of man, like science, logic, philosophy and psychology. What we are working for is privatized, affordable schooling. It would be perfect. Imagine a Wal-Mart approach to boarding schools. Parents who don't have enough time to watch their kids can turn them over to us for proper upbringing so that they can enjoy successful and well formed American youth when they graduate. Liberal parents could be forced to turn their kids over to us since what they do is pretty much child abuse. All we need to do is change a few laws here and there in each state and this can be a reality. So who's with me?

"Why would these companies give up their .com addresses? Was a forceable switch proposed? Sure, there would be new sites that would take the new domains, and those would easily be blocked by monitoring software (block *.xxx). But it's not going to change the fact that there are already a million adult .com addresses out there."I would hope not. I think it would be unconstitutional to rule that every porn site would have to give up their .com domain. But there are some instances (such as trademark infringement) that a court should be able to rule that a porn site give up its .com domain.I remember when www.zelda.com used to be a porn site. I was around 12 at the time when I stumbled across it. I thought it was more funny than anything, which is the normal reaction for a boy my age. Anyway, the owners of that domain were taken to court by Nintendo and forced to hand it over to Nintendo. If the .xxx domain had existed back then, that porn site could have likely easisly moved to www.zelda.xxx to keep their particular trademark, AND with simple filtering kids wouldn't be able to get to that .xxx site anyway. The court had ruled in Nintendo's favor because Nintendo's Zelda franchise is known to many kids, unlike this Zelda porn thing. To me, that would seem like a win-win for EVERYBODY. Fear of "legitimizing porn" is the worst argument there ever could be. Legitimizing porn actually would do more for protecting kids, because there would be much better regulation. It's the same kind of argument that says we ought to teach abstinence in school's rather than how to have safe sex. These idiots need to get off their moral high horse and think logically for once. We don't live in an ideal world and we never ever will. So maybe we should learn how to better deal with problems than to try and hold everyone to an impossible to achieve blissful utopia.

I'm glad that .xxx is stopped. When they herd people into a ghetto, the next thing on the agenda is to build walls around it, and the next after that is to burn it down.Porn is a human right. And, to hell with it, I say it does good for kids too. Ignorance is never better!Kids are the new jews. The s**t they have to put up with would put a police state to shame.
