You would have to be a dedicated person to implement .Mac. But you didn't implement it, Apple did. You use it.The second and third biggest users of my site after me are Windows users, and they don't have as good desktop integration as I do. I'm not talking about writing web pages in a text editor. Nor do you have to write your own scripts if you can use someone else's, e.g. mine. I'm talking about a user process you can get a feel for in an hour, and then can do in 5 minutes whenever you have a few pictures on your camera.
.Mac is a cool idea, but its really expensive. I just bought iLife 06 and I was really excited about iWeb only to find that you need to register an account with .Mac to publish anything. But i hope this procedure will be different in Ubuntu, its a cool distro
very cool idea indeed...i use ubuntu all the time...it'd be nice to see something like this for PC-BSD too, killer OS, almost like Mac...without all the proprietary bulls**t.

More than that. If it's tiered like .Mac never was, it can be and might be used by even OS X Users. It should have a free tier for sure.

Well, definitely another reason to like Ubuntu. I'm a huge fan, and this is just making me happy that I am.
