Ball's in your court, LeBron.

This is absolutely amazing for Miami
phphreakJul 7, 2010
Two stars together who have never played together before? This can't go wrong! Or can it?
Closed AccountJul 7, 2010
Yea they actually have. Both play for USA.
phphreakJul 7, 2010
the nba and olympics are miles apart.
7jbdwJul 7, 2010
Almost as sad as the day Jersey stole VC
sucks to be a Toronto sports fan sometimes!
hazardJul 7, 2010
what about the day they split T-Mac and VC? Should have invested in keeping those two together.
kzamJul 7, 2010
yes it does..but even though I am a huge Raptors and Bosh fan, he really can't do much more for the raps, not with the current team. He needs someone like dwayne wade playing with him to be effective. Because of his position he can't be the clutch guy in the 4th quarter because they double/triple team him. They brought in Turkgolu but he was a bust last season.
Just makes you wonder how good Vince and Bosh would have become if they had a chance to play together.
murtazajamaliJul 7, 2010
Please only refer to him as "Hedon't"
linuxcobraJul 7, 2010
If I remember correctly T-Mac didn't want to be number two or three guy in Toronto. He wanted to be the go to player. Thats why he left leaving only Vince Carter and a young Chris Bosh.
deathmatchJul 7, 2010
Im tired of seeing players get developed in Toronto just to go to another team
wiseguy1020Jul 7, 2010
Kind of like being a Florida Marlins fan.
nikhilpkJul 7, 2010
f**k Carter.
level4Jul 7, 2010
Agreed. I can't believe this guy has any fans. He proved his worth in the playoffs this year. Hedo was better than him before he left.
phphreakJul 7, 2010
The raptors traded Carter for a deflated basketball.
jhuikJul 9, 2010
Worse than the day the Bruins drafted Tyler Seguin? I hope you're right.
worstboardeverJul 7, 2010
Hopefully Lebron's home-town pride will win out. Not looking likely though.
nelson8403Jul 7, 2010
It's not happening.. they would have to sign and trade for bosh if they had a thought at LeBron, and Toronto said they will not trade with Miami, they like cleveland.Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.
hazardJul 7, 2010
that's if Bosh wanted the maximum, instead he will sign like a regular free agent and not a sign&trade. He doesn't make as much money but he signs with the team he wants to. So the Heat still have money for LBJ.Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.
nelson8403Jul 7, 2010
if he signs at a max contract they don't have money for LBJ, the only way to keep at 3 is to do a sign and trade with bosh
a2apataJul 7, 2010
They could aslo do a sign and trade with cleveland for lebron. That's unlikely, though. It is most likely a sign and trade with Toronto because Bosh is threatening signing outright. Toronto would rather get Beasley, a couple of first rounders and a huge trade exception than lose Bosh for nothing. That would clear close to 5 million and create enough space for Lebron. Lebron would get 5 year smaller contract but has more marketing potential and is young enough to know he'll get another max contract at the end of this one.
wiseguy1020Jul 7, 2010
Well see in a couple of hours.
janoo1989Jul 7, 2010
Coming from Toronto, it really sucks to lose such a great player (again). However, Chris Bosh really hasn't proven that he can take us anywhere as the cornerstone player. At least he didn't leave in the same manner as Carter... f**k that guy.
xposeJul 7, 2010
No one likes Bron Bron? :( Aww
Chris Broussard has been all over this story.
boombyeJul 7, 2010
There's always someone that supposedly has "knowledge of the situation", so I'll believe it when I see it, because there's been plenty of people in the know this year saying stuff that ends up just being speculative rumors that don't go anywhere. Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.
wiseguy1020Jul 7, 2010
I could understand saying something like that a couple weeks ago.
They are going to make an announcement this afternoon.

......according to a person with knowledge of the situation.

Yeah I like how I got buried above this comment trying to draw attention to that lol

I hope Bosh and Wade can win playing 2 vs. 5

There's a reason why he was called D-whistle.
bouncymanJul 7, 2010
Is anyone else annoyed that LeBron made an announcement that he will be making an announcement?
fauxbro1983Jul 7, 2010
no not really....however it does annoy me that he's making it a "one-hour" special event. it's gonna be funny when the self annointed "choosen one" stays in clevland and doesnt win a championship.

I don't think Xzibit minds.

boombyeJul 7, 2010
I don't the idiots burying you, because I said the same, you don't go on information like this just because someone has knowledge of the situation as there's been many similar stories like this about other players that ended up being BS this year during the draft.
halvertosJul 7, 2010
eh, who knows. it's the internets, any moron can click a button without really reading what's being said.
lostcause365Jul 7, 2010
Christ... Wade, Bosh and reportedly James... all on one team. As a Raps fan, I'm jealous. Powerhouse of the south!
locnarJul 7, 2010
Will never happen...
Do you really think Coke/Nike is going to be happy with LBJ only scoring 14 points a game? He will have to split it 3 ways..
Who's going to take the winning shot? they going to flip a coin at half time?
Never will happenComment is buried, click here to see the rest.
boombyeJul 7, 2010
Jordan had to share a court with 4 other bad ass mofos, I don't know what you're talking about 14 points for.
locnarJul 7, 2010
and they all knew who was in charge.. They were not the superstars that Wade is.. not even close.
it would be like Jordan and Ewing on the same team..
It will not work.
epicmuffinJul 7, 2010
@boombye
Jordan didn't really share the court with 4 badass mofos, during either 3 peat. Yes, Scottie Pippen was an all star but other than that it was just role players. You think Luc Longly was a badass mofo? Ron Harper? Rodman was a beast on the boards and defense, but c'mon...guys like Horace Grant and BJ Armstrong were not true badasses. Judd Bushler?
boombyeJul 7, 2010
The Bulls would freakin dominate even when Jordan was off with sick days/injuries.
epicmuffinJul 7, 2010
C'mon, boombye. What happened immediately after Jordan retired the first time? Teams like the Pacers, Rockets, Magic and Knicks all knew this was their only chance of picking up some (or at least getting to the) championships while MJ was gone. Shortly after Jordan returned the bulls were top dog again.
Part of the legacy of Jordan is the fact he did so much without a dominant big man, and with a team of mostly role players.

"Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh are teaming up together on the Miami Heat, according to a person with knowledge of the situation."
Seriously?
jwong8Jul 7, 2010
Lebron for chicago?
jshhmrJul 7, 2010
This! I am pretty sure LeBron will end up a Bull. Can't wait to see him with a red jersey.
fadetooneJul 7, 2010
I hate Dwyane Wade, if only for the ridiculously stupid way his first name is spelled.
riggsJul 7, 2010
Wow.
fadetooneJul 7, 2010
Apparently at least 8 people think 'Dwyane' is a perfectly reasonable way to spell it.
level4Jul 7, 2010
Won't matter unless they get more help. I kind of hope Lebron goes there too and they still lose (I mean loose). The celtics pulled it off, but with 2 team players and Pierce. They somehow convinced Pierce to be more of a team player. I don't see it happening with these guys.Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.
yammy1688Jul 7, 2010
celtics pulled it off because they had an exceptional supporting cast
that and they hacked every time down the court
SznappyJul 7, 2010
Being from Miami I am very excited and I truly believe Lebron is coming as well. The reason he is having this one hour special is that he wan ts to remind people how big he is when he goes and joins the big three on the heat.
krillinJul 7, 2010
GO CELTICS!
shadowblitzJul 7, 2010
GO LAKERS!
level4Jul 7, 2010
I think if Lebron is having a conference tomorrow, that means he's leaving Cleveland. He wants to take the time to thank the fans and organization so he seems like a "good guy". All they did was kiss his butt for his career and try to build a team for him. As I remember correctly, he didn't show up when the chips were down. His team played as they usually do.
ramondayJul 7, 2010
So, they might make the Eastern Conference playoffs? Granted Dwayne Wade is a terrific all-around player with whom any team would love to acquire if the deal was sweet. But don't you think this is a little overrated? I mean, I could understand if Miami was getting Kobe and Lebron along with someone like Lamar Odom or Paul Pierce, then it would be reason to go crazy. But Wade and Bosh? That's like getting an Acura cake when you were expecting a Ferrari cake, or at least are acting like you got a Ferrari cake.Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.
boombyeJul 7, 2010
It would be great for Miami, but your reasoning is flawed and I don't even want to try and understand it. While it would be great for Miami, there's no big deal here as it's just something being said by an anonymous person in the know as with all such related stories, most of which end up being BS, some true, but more people are interested in LeBron's choice and I don't know why you're bringing up Kobe as he's not relevant in what's going on, he's not a free agent.
ramondayJul 8, 2010
Context. Summary of my rant: What's the big freakin' deal, Miami?
wolfingJul 7, 2010
Pat Riley says he wants to build a dinasty... how long do you think Miami would be able to afford a super mega star, a mega star and a super star like that?Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.
phphreakJul 7, 2010
dynasty, not dinasty
phyx726Jul 7, 2010
Bosh couldn't have whored himself more.
phphreakJul 7, 2010
Who cares? I soured on the whole Chris Bosh thing when he fathered an illegitimate child, then welched on the apparent verbal deal he had with the child's mother. It showed me he had no honour. Toronto went nowhere with Bosh, and Bosh didn't make those around him any better, as all good players do. Goodbye Bosh, you will be easily forgotten.
wiseguy1020Jul 7, 2010
I bet Bosh's people leaked this to force Toronto into a sign & trade.
wiseguy1020Jul 7, 2010
Wow. ESPN is down for me.
azwethinkweizmJul 7, 2010
Too bad Lebron is retiring, he's not gonna sign with anyone.
indubitablyJul 7, 2010

azwethinkweizmJul 7, 2010
Exactly, my sources are usually right and this time they ARE right.

don't ya think that Bosh and Wade would still lose to the Lakers in the Final?
flonominal11Jul 7, 2010
No.
rahazJul 7, 2010
Yes
mhf03Jul 7, 2010
Lebron surprise everyone and go to the Clippers.
jshhmrJul 7, 2010
Meanwhile Dirk returns to Dallas to ensure the Mavs stay the course of not winning a playoff game.
sskt88Jul 7, 2010
The real question now is...where is tracy mcgrady going!?
rahazJul 9, 2010
So is Lebron as of like 15 minutes ago.
locnarJul 9, 2010
Yep, I was wrong.. And so was the rest of Cleveland.. We gave LeBron to much credit.. Never pictured him as a quitter.. Still..I dont see a ring on his finger just yet..
