Eating fat does not make you fat. And unless you eat the once government-endorsed hydrogenated fats, neither does it give you heart disease.

Yeah, the amount of misinformation about fat is staggering. I know so many people who think fat is just bad, period. They don't understand that their brains need it to function properly and that getting the right amount is what you need to do with fat, like everything else.
Most people see everything as black and white and sadly that's all they are capable of. Maybe they need more fat in their diets to think deeper.

Tell me WHY the CD36 gene does this and I'll believe you.

The 'genetic' roots of obesity arguments are ridiculous. The obesity epidemic started in the 1970s. Are we expected to believe that genetics had anything to do with a problem that is less than one generation old? Evolution has produced bodies that are vulnerable to the corn sugar fast food diet that has sprung up in the last few decades. Prior to that people ate all the fatty foods they wanted and lived fairly healthy lives. Dieting is a disastrous policy to follow. It compounds the obesity problem.

"Evolution has produced bodies that are vulnerable to the corn sugar"
And the body did it by modifying it's genes.
