Jupiter be scary.
balzorSep 27, 2011
not sure why that's on collegehumor, but I will use this in my science class. nice
fourthbrnSep 27, 2011
I thought (because it was college humor) that they were going to show a picture of Uranus and have a giant butt hole pop up....kept cracking up waiting for it...but it never came. Can someone please make a new one?
spacecowb0ySep 28, 2011
I don't think 4th graders can make good quality video edits.
yorickbrownSep 28, 2011
No, you thought they were going to show a giant butt hole because for some reason you really want to see a giant butt hole.

i wish we had 2 suns.
i think.
leland1Sep 28, 2011
Luke Skywalker on Tattoine got to see 2 suns in Star Wars 4 -- the John Williams music made the movie scene so dramatic. I wonder if the 2 suns would look as good without the music playing in the background...
2-sun sunsets probably look great, but noontime sun would require spf 5000 sunscreen.
: )

The distance from earth to the moon is about 2x the diameter of jupiter. Why is our moon so far away =( ?
plebesotericistSep 28, 2011
The rotation of the Earth in conjunction with tidal expansion creates a push on the Moon that forces it farther away from the Earth.
10000lakesSep 28, 2011
Very cool! :)
emrediSep 27, 2011
Anyone notice that the Earth is rotating backwards? (probably the other planets as well)
spacecowb0ySep 28, 2011
Did you also notice that earth can't orbit earth? Not to mention there is no up/down orientation in space, it is what we make it.
gkiltzSep 27, 2011
They would collide with Earth. Too much mass, they would not have a stable orbit at that distance.
killerhamSep 27, 2011
Earth would orbit the larger planets. Thus earth would be a moon.
pickledplaceboSep 27, 2011
Like in Halo: Reach, it looks like Reach is orbiting a planet that resembles a mix of Saturn and Uranus
squallleoneSep 27, 2011
I have a screenshot of that planet as my wallpaper and I didn't realize this, aldkjadladlkjasdkl.
pickledplaceboSep 29, 2011
I noticed when I played the Long Night of Solace for the first time during the flying.
matt1600Sep 27, 2011
We would soak up so much radiation of Jupiter there wouldn't be life on Earth as we know it! But aside from death being the biggest issue that it wouldn't, it would be absolutely sweet to see Jupiter in the sky!
j_carcinogenSep 28, 2011
What is this, 3rd grade science class?
spacecowb0ySep 28, 2011
No one on digg has passed the third grade, therefore making this video highly relevant to them.
plebesotericistSep 28, 2011
The Moon only takes up one half of one degree in the sky (0.5º). Most people think the angular size of the Moon in the sky is about 5x-10x larger. Your pinky finger at arm's length is about 1º. So Mars would be about as wide as you pinky, Earth would be about the width of your pinky and ring finger together, Neptune: your pinky, ring and middle finger. Jupiter would have an angular size of about 20º, which is about the size of two fists with the thumbs on the sides at arm's length.

Where's the funny?
