I think the raptor looks strangely like my ex.

Tyrannosaurus Ex
anomaly100Jan 30, 2011
Yeah, you know him?
MarleybonezJan 30, 2011
They did survive, I have one in my back yard.

Real or not, it's still an intriguing thought, and it's always nice to have another puzzle piece to play with. Heck, I wouldn't mind it being a false theory if it meant we had to develop a new, more accurate dating technology to disprove it.

Ever watch Fringe?
rgb86Jan 30, 2011
No, why?
Looking at the description, though, it sounds like it might be interesting...
anomaly100Jan 30, 2011
It's science fiction. A great show but the plot is now that man lived before the dinosaurs roamed the Earth, not after. It's brilliant if you like sci-fi. It's about a parallel universe who we are at war with -- but, no one on Earth knows except the Fringe department. Sounds funny, I know....

How is this news? Guy invents "new method" of dating fossils based on the date of fossilization and determines fossil is just slightly younger than the extinction event (64.8 Ma vs 65 Ma) plus or minus 900,000 years. Not only does his method not deal with the date of the death of the actual dinosaur, but when used on rocks has been debunked by other scientists.

agreed, I am a Geologist from Queens University in Canada, and the KT extinction boundary still is pretty solidly entrenched by all geological minds, the discrepancy with this guy is his Uranium dating technique, which although fairly accurate, like lead zircon dating, any kind of radiometric dating has a laaaaarge margin for error, and this guy isn't taking into account that margin...

What told that that? The existence of birds?
davidnivenJan 30, 2011
Buried for believing the dinosaur-bird junk science link.
teru382Jan 30, 2011
New evidences always come up. 'Natural selection - Survival of the fittest' is the motto of the dinosaurs. This species had also ruled over the whole planet. The definitions of human civilization go much further. What do you think about the 24,000 innocents die each day?

Duh Loch Ness.

"The Voth are a bipedal reptilian species who are distant kin to Humans and had evolved from the dinosaurs of their shared homeworld of Earth."
I knew it was true.
jckjns78Jan 30, 2011
Of course, then there would be nothing left here in earth.
ferrisnoxJan 30, 2011
Seems completely probable.
sterlingcarterJan 30, 2011
Sure why couldn't some dino's have survived the mass extinction. Take a look at crocs and gators.
errabbaaJan 30, 2011
dont think so :(
davidnivenJan 30, 2011
So, maybe all that crap about Jesus riding dinosaurs is not THAT far fetched.
Well, yeah it is...but I like to make fun of the atheists who think that there is no possible way per science that there were dinosaurs on the ark, behemoths in the Bible eras, or weird fire-breathing animals a few thousand years ago.
Science seems to be revealing some interesting things that may have happened only a few thousand years ago.Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.

Let it rest. It's still too far-fetched to bother with. Only a crazy troll would hang on so desperately
greentechguyJan 30, 2011
Barney the Dinosaur is the one that should have been wiped out. :)
