Two relatively simple ways to test this, with the only limitation being getting a sufficient sample size.
1. Do a study with Male to Female and Female to Male transgendered persons who suffer from schizophrenia who are at least on hormone therapy if their symptoms qualitatively improved before and after the start of therapy. i.e. if their symptoms improved after say taking androgen blockers and estrogen, how much did it improve, and does it scale with the relative E and T levels.
2. Do that same methodology on people with demonstrated hormonal imbalance .. wether it's natural or because of medication. Men on the heart disease drug Spirolaconolone for example have much lower T than normal men ,. do their scores change on the test TFA describes?
