Interesting read. However, parents will always want their kids to have cellphones for assurance reasons. I know I would.

Kids are doomed anyhow... oops!

Is this part of the Rally to keep Fear alive?

the cellphones a real threat to our children

the flood of fast passed and short status updates and messages on twitter and facebook dont allow developing minds to sit back and have a well thought emotional response. before they can even comprehend the gravity or lack of from a message and respond with good judgment, they are already reading the next one after replying with something quick.

Are cell phones/computers/toys/vaccines/vegetables killing your children? Yes, they are. How can you save them? Well just buy my book for only $26.95. (34% off on Amazon!)
Meanwhile, we keep taking our kids to McDonald's and loading them up with high fructose corn syrup, things that actually *could* kill them in the long run. And guess what? You don't need to spend 20+ dollars on a book to know that.

Didn't bother reading. When will these people understand people don't want to flip through 5 pages to read something? Damn.

They know that. But htey also know that SOME people will click through. If they put it all on one page, they get one page view. Even with the WORST case scenario where 100% refuse to read the whole thing, they will still get that one page view since people will still go to page 1 (if for no other reason than becuase they don't know it is split onto many pages.) So they have nothing to lose.
Some dy someone will do a study to find the optimum number of pages to maximize revenue. That number won't be 1, but I guarantee it won't be like the sites that have a top 25 list and put them all on one page

You didn't miss anything. It was junk science being used to promote a book.

Almost anything can "potentially" harm you. Stop with the fear-mongering.

Cell phone radiation has not been proven to have adverse effects
on people's health.
http://www.who.int/peh-emf/about/WhatisEMF/en/index1.html
Ask yourself: would you rather wait for contrary evidence from the
25,001st published study or would you prefer the comfort and security
(emergency calls without a landline) of having a cell phone?
Whether or not children should have their own phone can be debated
on other grounds, such as financial, whether they are media conscious
enough or become attentionally or emotionally distracted. Health
concerns from radiation should not be one of them.

a: this article mentions the possible harm that long term frequent cell phone use can have after a decade. kids are not pushing the phones up against their ears like grown ups do.
b: i can't think of any children's app which requires constant radiation emitting from the phone, unless you count visible light and heat. when there is no voice call or data transfer, there is just as much radiation as there is in the air in any of our towns.

This is serious!

ANY new gadget, toy or technology ALWAYS has the same fears from the nutcases. Radio would kill off the book - kids would not learn to read if they can listen to new-fangled radio!
The main thing I'm concerned with these days is that my son and all kids can get the answer to anything they want, RIGHT NOW. So why do they have to train their brains to retain knowledge when all they have to do is "Google It"?
