Take a look around your house or office. Look at everything made of plastic. Now realize and understand that all of those items that were made from crude oil could easily be made from hemp instead.
If you want to reduce our use of foreign oil rather quickly, you need to call your elected officials and push them to support The Industrial Hemp Farming Act of 2011(H.R. 1831).
You can easily contact your elected officials about this issue here: http://capwiz.com/norml2/issues/alert/?alertid=48009501
To read more about this bill that was sponsored by Ron Paul and 25 others, go here: http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/bdquery/z?d112:h.r.1831:
America is the worlds largest importer of hemp. China is the worlds largest exporter. America could easily take that title away from China and make a metric f**k-ton of money doing it while providing jobs in this country for farming and manufacturing among others.

49% of the oil we use is produced in the U.S., and many of the U.S. wells are owned by very small companies and individuals. In the past year and a half U.S. production has risen by over a million barrels per day.
Are you wanting to take some of their income away too?
I do support hemp, if it is not subsidized as ethanol is. Can hemp polymers fill as many needs as petroleum based polymers?Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.

Hemp will not take over all crude oil use. Even if it did, that would not be a reason to stop using non-sustainable crude oil over 100% sustainable hemp.
