I wouldn't worry... the vast majority of bacteria is harmless because our body protects us. Some bacteria is even beneficial to us...
norman619Jan 18, 2011
Like the ones that live in your gut.

It always starts out this way...grow a little prehistoric bacteria. No one gets hurt. What's the big deal? But it's never enough is it? Bacteria leads to viruses and before you know it your in the jungles of Costa Rica hiding from a Velociraptor.
fxspec06Jan 18, 2011
..but will it blend?
skinturtleJan 18, 2011
that meme is as old as the bacteria.
mysql101Jan 18, 2011

grodenbaughJan 18, 2011
it just goes to show - someday we may bark up the wrong tree and unleash something that can do worse. :I'm looking at you, Mars!:
jlc107Jan 18, 2011
In Islington (London UK burb) recently, someone told me, decades ago there was extensive research on the possibility, that digging down so deep for construction of the Angel tube station, may disturb, unearth, and re-introduce remnants of the Black Plague. I dismissed the discussion as another urban legend. This makes me wonder . . . . .
dianeblJan 18, 2011
you seem to be under the mistaken assumption that the black plague isn't still around, and doesn't pop up from time to time in various places around the world
tudy5102Jan 18, 2011
I, for one, welcome our new ancient bacterial overlords.
templateforfreeJan 18, 2011
nice
kar3nJan 18, 2011
makes you wonder if one day a bacteria will resurface that we have no known cures for
kamtsaJan 18, 2011
New bacteria? Bring it on!
bosskeyJan 18, 2011
If this ever gets out of hand we'll just breed some of its 34,000-year-old antibodies and turn them loose. What could go wrong?
jugglingjonJan 18, 2011
You think that thing wanted to be an animal? No dog's making it a thousand miles to the coast. You don't understand, THAT THING WANTED TO BE US
skinturtleJan 18, 2011
The memes that are popping up in these replies are as old as the bacteria.
tennebamaJan 19, 2011
I wonder if something like this ancient microbe could be killing all the animals around the world?
atanveerJan 19, 2011
Awesome. Imagine...some long frozen bacteria is warmed up to life, which then infects all humans on the planet...curing us of horrible diseases like cancer, AIDS and religion.
gkiltzJan 19, 2011
That's bacteria for you!
